Called Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes (TLC), the program focuses on three areas:
• Nutrition – decreasing saturated fat, trans fat and cholesterol; and increasing soluble fiber.
• Physical activity – at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity, such as brisk walking, five to seven days a week.
• Weight management – eating only enough calories to reach or maintain a healthy weight.
