Fitness Consultations & Custom Exercise Programs

Fitness and exercise consultations are individualized appointments with an exercise physiologist to evaluate your fitness level and make recommendations. During an exercise consultation, the Exercise Physiologist will review your exercise history including preferences and current activities, and may use testing guidelines that are specific to a client’s age group, such as the Senior Fitness Test® for those 60 and better.

Using evidence-based guidelines, the exercise physiologist will then work with you to develop an exercise program and fitness plan designed to improve your fitness level, based on your specific health condition. All suggested exercises are explained thoroughly and demonstrated as needed.

An initial exercise consultation will typically be 60 minutes in length. Periodic follow-up appointments of 30 minutes may be scheduled to review goals and adjust exercises as needed.

Exercise consultations may benefit clients who:

  • Have previously been inactive
  • Want to lose weight
  • Have cardiovascular disease or a family risk of heart disease
  • Have diabetes or pre-diabetes
  • Have hypertension
  • Have osteoporosis or are at risk for developing osteoporosis
  • Have arthritis or orthopedic issues that limit mobility
