Diabetes Prevention Program

You’ve probably read or heard the news that millions of Americans are prediabetic, and that most of them don’t even know it. Prediabetes is a warning sign that diabetes could be on your doorstep.

If you answer yes to one or more of these questions, you might have prediabetes:

  • Do you have a parent or sibling with diabetes?
  • Are you overweight?
  • Are you 65 or older?
  • Are between 45 and 65 and mostly physically inactive (no regular exercise)?

Click here to take this brief test to see if you may have prediabetes. See your health care provider and request a blood test to find out if you are prediabetic.

If you have already been diagnosed as prediabetic or at risk for diabetes, the Sun Health Center for Health & Wellbeing can help. We offer a Diabetes Prevention Program to help you make the necessary lifestyle changes.  Taught by our expert staff, the series uses evidence-based practices including a healthful diet, increased physical activity and other lifestyle modifications to improve your health and prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes.
